In the first week of starting my Fashion, Retail & Enterprise course I went and visited a couple of art galleries in Newcastle for inspirational purposes, I took photographs as I went to show some of the visuals that were on show.
Baltic
At the time of my visit the work of an artist called Daniel Buren was on display, prior to this I had never heard of him. I really enjoyed looking at his work and also found it quite inspirational, I have studied art subjects since I can remember and have always found that I tend to go towards abstract art, so it was safe to say I was very pleased with Buren's work.
I found Buren's work to be very simple yet eye-catching, the use of bright colours was really enticing and draws the viewer in. I like how he uses mirrors in his work to show reflections from different angles which also show different views, I also seen this come across on his 3D work as if you looked at it head on it looked rather flat, but if you moved around it became 3D.

The Biscuit Factory
When I visited The Biscuit Factory two artists stood out to me, the first being Graham Muir's work. His work made me think of the seaside due to his pieces looking like waves, I also found this with the colours he used in his work.

The second artist that I liked at The Biscuit Factory was Charlotte Sale, her work is similar to Muir's in the sense that they both relate to water and are made using glass. Sale's work to me resembles water droplets/splashes and I found that it is quite calm and tranquil.
